Non-stick fry cookware has become a common utensil in modern kitchens due to its advantages such as requiring less oil, being non-stick, and easy to clean. However, improper use and maintenance can shorten the lifespan of the cookware and affect its non-stick performance and cooking results. Therefore, mastering the correct usage and maintenance methods is crucial.
Before using non-stick fry cookware for the first time, it is recommended to gently wash it with warm water and a neutral detergent to remove any residual protective layer or impurities. After washing, dry the cookware and apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the inside of the pan. Heat it over low heat for a few minutes, then let it cool naturally. This helps activate the non-stick coating and improves initial performance. During daily cooking, avoid heating the pan empty for extended periods. High-temperature dry heating can easily damage the non-stick coating structure, leading to aging or peeling of the coating.

During use, try to use soft utensils such as wooden or silicone spatulas, avoiding direct contact between metal spatulas and the pan surface to prevent scratching the coating. Non-stick fry cookware is also more suitable for low to medium heat cooking. Excessive heat not only affects the taste of the food but also reduces the durability of the coating. For dishes requiring higher oil temperatures, control the heat appropriately and heat gradually to reduce thermal shock to the coating.
Cleaning and maintenance are equally important. After cooking, allow the pan to cool naturally before washing it with warm water and a soft sponge, avoiding sudden temperature changes that can cause the pan to deform. For stubborn oil stains, soak the pan in warm water first, then gently scrub it. Do not use steel wool or strong alkaline detergents. After cleaning, dry or air-dry the pan to prevent water stains from remaining for extended periods.
For storage, try to avoid stacking multiple pans directly on top of each other. If stacking is necessary, place a soft cloth or pan protector between the pans to reduce friction and damage to the coating. When not in use for a long time, keep the inside of the pan dry and well-ventilated to prevent moisture from affecting the coating performance.
The performance and lifespan of non-stick fry cookware largely depend on daily usage habits. By properly controlling the heat, choosing appropriate utensils, and performing proper cleaning and storage, you can extend the lifespan of your cookware and make cooking easier, safer, and more efficient.
